POSTPONED Parenting as a church leader course

Picture
Ever given a talk at church and had your teenager eye roll from the front row, or your preschooler cling to your left leg? Wonder if working for the church will put your kids off God? Being a church leader and a parent can be a unique combination to juggle, as we steward our call to ministry and help our children flourish spiritually and emotionally.

Join us online for four weeks of the 'Parenting as a church leader' course, using a great video series from Rachel Turner. Each week we will have trusted local Anglican church leaders come and share some reflections and encouragement from their years of balancing the priorities of family life and ministry.

Join us online
Grab a cuppa and treat, and join us from the comfort of your own couch! Over four Zoom sessions, we'll look at how to help kids feel more:
  • Connected
  • Prioritised
  • Covered
  • Empowered

Each session will include:
  • three short videos, presented by Rachel Turner
  • space for personal reflection (no break out groups, we promise!)
  • some reflections and encouragement from some Anglican church leaders who know the juggle of balancing life and ministry well.

Who's it for?
This course is open to any church leaders within the Anglican Dioceses of New Zealand.

What will I need?
A reliable internet connection, a comfortable couch and some snacks. Bring a notebook for reflection and processing of the content. There is a book that shares the content (detailed below) if you want a copy for your bookshelves, but you don't need to purchase this or do any prep ahead of time. Just come along :)  The course is free, and you can sign up below!

Parenting as a Church Leader: Helping your family thrive
Specifically for those in church leadership, this book explores the unique parenting context of being a family in ministry.  It gives four main things our children need from us to flourish within a ministry context, and has loads of stories and examples of how church leaders and their families have found their own way.
